KINGSVILLE - The Tarleton TexAnn volleyball team dropped a third straight conference match, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-17) to Texas A&M-Kingsville at Hampton Inn Court on Thursday.
Tarleton falls to 8-18 overall and 3-6 in the Lone Star Conference. The loss marks the first time that the TexAnns have fell 10 games under the .500 mark since Oct. 21, 2003 (8-18). The Javelinas meanwhile move to 16-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
TAMUK out-attacked the TexAnn offense, connecting on 47 kills to Tarleton's 27. The TexAnns finished the match with just a .033 hitting percentage, while the Javelinas finished hitting .250.
Rachel Wolf led the TexAnns with nine kills and
Shay Gracy followed with seven.
Jessie Hartman assisted in the Tarleton attack 12 times and
Danielle Perkins added eight assists on the evening.
Shea McBrearty led the team with 21 digs.
TAMUK's Sha Tramble recorded a double-double, tallying 12 kills and 16 digs. Three other Javelina players recorded double digit digs in the match as well. Kirby Kruger led with a match-high 23 assists.
The TexAnns have the weekend off and will return to action next Thursday, Oct. 29. Tarleton will host LSC-leading West Texas A&M to Wisdom Gym with a first service set for 7 p.m.
