Final Results
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After trailing by five strokes on the first day of competition, the No. 5 Tarleton TexAnns rallied to claim the Cheddar's/Central Oklahoma Classic with a 10-stroke turnaround at Lincoln Park East Course in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Tarleton shot a 294 on Tuesday with all of its golfers turning in 77 or below to help the TexAnns claim their second straight tournament of the season. Tarleton shot a 596 total (302-294) and finished five strokes ahead of Monday's leader St. Edward's (297-304-601).
Melanie Tham led the TexAnns with a 148 (75-73) and finished fifth individually.
Carla Cooper tied for sixth with a 149 (72-77) with teammate
Katy Ward (78-71).
Jacqueline Lau had a 153 (77-76) to tie for 16th while
Andrea Lowe shot a 155 (81-74).
Candace Brister tied for 30th with a 157 (79-78) as an individual medalist.
Host Central Oklahoma finished third with a 604 (300-304) followed by Angelo State (309-297-606), Cameron (306-304-610), Midwestern State (308-310-618), Northeastern State (315-313-628), Dallas Baptist (308-324-633), Texas A&M-Commerce (323-311-634) and Arkansas Tech (322-314-636). Also competing in the event was Henderson State (315-323-638), Stephen F. Austin (320-320-640), Harding (315-328-643), Newman (322-321-643), St. Mary's (327-327-654), East Central (327-335-662), Incarnate Word (337-334-671) and Southwest Oklahoma (342-341-683).
The TexAnns will return to action at the Angelo State Invitational Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20. The tournament, which will be Tarleton's final event of the fall, will take place in San Angelo.
