STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton TexAnns set a new school record for margin of victory with a 109-29 win over Concordia at Wisdom Gym on Tuesday night.

The TexAnns defeated the Tornados by 80 points to break the original record of 78 points that was set back more than 28 years ago on Mar. 8, 1981 against Centenary.  Tarleton scored more than 100 points for the first time since Dec. 31, 2004 when the TexAnns defeated Dallas Christian 105-29 in Stephenville.

All 10 players that played for the TexAnns scored at least one basket on the night.  Six of the players scored in double figures with senior center JoAnne Jones leading the way with 20 points.  Right behind her was sophomore forward Morgan Stehling who scored a career-high 16 points in the victory.  Junior center Kelsey Benford scored 11 of Tarleton's 53 points off the bench and added 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.  Sophomore forward Brittany Coleman added a career-high 15 points coming off the bench as well.

Tarleton opened the first-half with a 13-8 lead with 13:32 left, then allowed the visiting team to just five more points throughout the remainder of the half to take a 59-13 into the locker room at the break.

The TexAnns scored 27 points off turnovers and did not allow the Tornados to score any in the first half.  Offensively, the TexAnns could do no wrong finishing the first-half shooting .657 percent from the field that included going 7-for-14 (.500) from beyond the ar.

Much of the same happened for the TexAnns as Tarleton rolled in the second-half, outscoring their opponents 50-16 in the final period of play.  The home team shot .575 percent from the field to finish the game shooting .613 from the floor.

The TexAnns dominated the inside throughout the entire game, outscoring the visiting team 64-16 in the paint.  Tarleton's transition offense seemed to run on all cylinders as well, as they scored 33 fastbreak points on the night.

The TexAnns improved to 4-0 on the season and will break for the Thanksgiving Holiday before returning to the court this Saturday, Nov. 28 against St. Edwards.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Austin.
