TexAnns win weather-shortened Rattler Roundup

- Final Results

SAN ANTONIO – Due to the inclement winter weather in San Antonio Tuesday, the second round of the Lady Rattler Roundup, hosted by St. Mary's, was cancelled.  The TexAnns, who led the tournament after the first day of competition, claim the team victory over 10 other schools.

Tarleton shot a 299 on Monday to finish nine strokes ahead of Northeastern State who finished second.

TexAnn Melanie Tham tied NSU's Whitney McAteer with a 73 to lead all individual players, but since the second day was cancelled, a scorecard playoff determined that McAteer would win the individual medal with the tiebreaker.

Jacqueline Lau finished third with a 74 while Carla Cooper tied for fourth with a 75.  Andrea Lowe and Katy Ward each tied for seventh with a 77.

The TexAnns have now won three of their last four tournaments dating back to the fall.  Tarleton finished second in another tournament and sixth in the season's opening tournament in Florida.

Over the last three-plus season, the TexAnns are the most successful women's golf program in any of the three NCAA levels.  Tarleton has won 21 tournaments dating back to the 2006-07 season.  Tarleton has claimed a victory in 21 of their last 33 tournaments and finished in the top five in all but two and in the top seven in each of them.

The TexAnns will return to action on March 1-2 at the St. Edward's Invitational in Austin.
