RICHARDSON – Tarleton's Casey Keeter was named this week's Lone Star Conference Field Athlete of the Week according to a release by the league office on Thursday.

Keeter recorded his second-best throw ever in the shot put in Arlington this past Saturday, while winning the event at the UTA/Bobby Invitational with a mark of 16.67. He defeated six NCAA Division I athletes in finals to secure his second gold medal of the 2010 season in the shot put event. Having already provisionally qualified a few weeks earlier, the junior All-American also bettered his previous mark by .37 meters.

Keeter then placed 10th in the men's discus event as well, earning the second-best mark out of DII athletes.

The Track & Field teams returned to Stephenville on Thursday evening after competing in the McMurry Relays. Both men's and women's teams will travel to San Angelo next Saturday, April 10 to compete in the Angelo State Relays.
