SAN ANGELO – The Tarleton men's and women's track & field teams return to action this Saturday, April 10, competing in the David Noble/Angelo State Relays at LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo.
Both field events and running preliminaries are scheduled to get underway at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Texans, ranked No. 14 in the nation, are coming off a second-place finish at the McMurry Relays in Abilene last Thursday. Nolan Eubanks took third-place overall in the men's discus after throwing a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark of 54.75m.
Junior All-American Casey Keeter picked up a second-place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.38m. Chris Haerell (1500m run) and Gerzain Valenzuela (5000m run) also picked up second-place finishes in their respective running events as well.
The TexAnns finished third overall in team standings and were led by Elizabeth Dominguez' first-place performance in the women's discus with a throw of 40.78m.
All-American's Kandis Brooks, Garrett Thomas and Jared McNeil each competed in the 2010 Texas Relays in Austin last weekend.
Brooks ran in the preliminaries of the 100m hurdles, finishing 23rd overall with a time of 14.10.
Thomas won the men's college division 110m hurdles event with a time of 14.40.
McNeil finished ninth overall in the Jerrry Thompson Invitational Mile, but managed to finish with a provisional qualifying time of 4:11.21.
