ABILENE – The Tarleton Track & Field teams competed in their last regular-season meet of the season, participating at the Oliver Jackson Invitational at Elmer Grey Stadium in Abilene on Saturday.
Tarleton tallied seven podium finishes which included a first-place performance from junior All-American Jared McNeil in the men's 800m run.
McNeil finished with a NCAA Division II provisional time of 1:52.87 and now leads all LSC runners in the event.
Kolin Styles picked up a second-place finish in the men's 1500m run, finishing with a time of 4:01.64 and senior All-American brought home a silver medal performance in the men's 110m hurdles as well with a time of 14.51.
Junior All-American Casey Keeter placed third overall in the men's shot put event, but was the top collegiate thrower with a toss of 16.24m.
Tyler Rushing came in third-place in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.93m to round out the men's top-three finishers.
Sheila Bishop was the lone TexAnn to bring home a podium medal in an individual event as she placed third in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:29.51.
The TexAnns 4x400m relay team finished second with a time of 3:53.66.
Both men's and women's teams will return to action next weekend at the Lone Star Conference Championship meet at LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo. Decathlon and Heptathlon events will begin Friday. Field events and running preliminaries will begin on Saturday. Finals are set for Sunday.
