AMARILLO – The No.5 Tarleton TexAnn golf team stretched its lead to 12 strokes at the 2010 Super Region Four Championships on Monday in Amarillo.
The TexAnns, who led by four after day one with a 310, shot a 302 on Monday to finish the first 36 holes with a 612, 12 strokes ahead of Cal State-Monterey Bay at 624. Tarleton is looking for its fourth straight Super Region Four title.
Jacqueline Lau leads the TexAnns with a two-day total of 152 (78-74) after shooting two over par Monday. She is tied at third individually. Melanie Tham is tied at fifth with a 153 (78-75) and Carla Cooper is in ninth with a 155 (76-79). Andrea Lowe is tied for 10th with a 156 (82-74 and Katy Ward is tied for 12th with a 157 (78-79).
Sonoma State (314-324) is tied for third with Angelo State (314-324) as each team has a 638. Western Washington (639), St. Edward's (642), Grand Canyon (644), West Texas A&M (647) and Northeastern State (659) round out the field of competition.
The final 18 holes at the Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo is set for Tuesday, May 4. Ward will lead off for the TexAnns at 9:20 a.m. and will be followed by Lowe, Cooper, Tham and Lau every 10 minutes.
