STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton TexAnn softball pitcher Julie Norris has been named the Lone Star Conference South Division Pitcher of the Week after a strong performance against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Norris helped the TexAnns get the two wins they needed this week against Texas A&M-Kingsville to advance to the Lone Star Conference Championship.  Norris was 2-0 with a 0.50 earned run average as she pitched 14.0 innings and allowed just one earned run with three walks and 11 strikeouts.  The Javelinas hit .214 off the TexAnn senior. 

The TexAnn is 15-13 on the season, and she will lead her team to the LSC Championship Tournament this week in Durant, Okla. Tarleton will play No. 3 Midwestern State at noon on Thursday, May 6.
