STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton head softball coach
Julie Mata has announced the second signing of the week with the addition of Courtney Vroman to a national letter-of-intent.
Vroman, an infielder who will transfer from Tarleton from McLennan Community College, will be a junior next season for the TexAnns.
“Courtney comes from a talent-rich program and has the kind of work ethic and determination we are looking for with our program,” Mata said. “I know she'll be an important part of our success in the upcoming season, both on the field and in the classroom.”
Vroman hit .286 in 2009-10 and had 14 runs batted in in 49 at-bats after hitting .234 as a freshman in 2008-09. She had a .959 fielding percentage while appearing in 26 of the Highlassies' 60 games.
At Lorena High School, Vroman was a three-time all-district selection playing for coach Rusty Erwin. She was named the LHS Defensive Player of the Year and Heart Award recipient. She was a member of the National Honor Society and PALs.
The newest TexAnn is the daughter of John and Mischele Voss and Donnie and Sarah Vroman. She has three brothers, Trey, Tanner and Bradley, and one sister, Haley.
