Stringer will come to Tarleton from Evansville, Indiana, where she was a four-year star at Evansville North High School. There she received a number of awards and accolades for her achievements on the court.
The 6'0" Stringer was named to the Indiana East-West All-Star game, as well as an IBCA Indiana All-Star as a junior and senior. Hoosier Basketball Magazine named her to the top 60 seniors and All-State as a sophomore, junior and senior.
In her final year at Evansville North, Stringer averaged an outstanding 15.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, leading her team to the best finish in school history at 18-5. Her 12.3 boards each game was second in the state, and gave Stringer her third straight year in the top five in rebounding in Indiana.
“Giorgia is a strong, physical inside presence that will really make a difference in our offense,” said Assistant Coach Misty Wilson. “She has the ability to play physical inside or step out behind the three-point line and shoot it as well. She has a good knowledge of the game, great rebounding skills and a variety of post moves that will make her a tough match-up for opponents.”
Stringer joins Lindsey Mann, who was signed by the TexAnns earlier this year, as the new faces of Tarleton basketball.
