Texans leave Edmond on sour note with loss to Bronchos

- Box Score

EDMOND, Okla. – The No. 18 Tarleton baseball team dropped the third game of the series to Central Oklahoma Sunday by a score of 15-4.

The Bronchos exploded out of the gate with five runs in the bottom of the first, which would prove to be too much for Tarleton to come back from.

The Texans were able to get on the board in the top of the third with a pair of runs courtesy of an Ethan Stuckly two-run home run.

Tarleton added two more runs in the fourth when Mark Jeffery and Zane Hensley led off the inning with back-to-back home runs. This made the score 6-4 and put the Texans within range of UCO.

Unfortunately, the Bronchos would go on to score nine runs in the last two innings, putting the game out of reach for Tarleton.

Stuckly led the Texans with a 2-for-3 day and two RBI's, while Jeffery and Hensley provided the other Tarleton runs.

Chuck Brown (0-1) made his first start of the season and gave up five runs on six hits in an inning of work, suffering the loss for the Texans.

Mac Gordon (1-1) picked up the win for the Bronchos and gave up four runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Tarleton falls to 29-10 on the year and 18-9 in the Lone Star Conference. The Texans will next face St. Edward's on Tuesday in Stephenville.
