Texans finish third, TexAnns sixth at LSC Championship Meet

Celeste Meyer was one of four Tarleton runners - joining Tye Doty, Chase Rathke and Miles Joslin - to earn all-conference runners at the LSC Championship Meet Saturday.

LAWTON, Okla. - Led by a trio of all-conference runners, the Tarleton men's cross country team claimed a third-place finish at the Lone Star Conference Championship meet at Cameron Saturday morning.

Tye Doty, Chase Rathke and Miles Joslin all earned all-conference accolades for their performance at the meet. This marks the second straight season for Rathke to earn all-LSC honors.

Meanwhile, the women's team finished sixth at the meet, but Celeste Meyer earned all-conference honors with her 14th-place finish.

In the 8K men's event, Tarleton finished behind West Texas A&M and the repeat conference champions, Eastern New Mexico.

Doty led the team with a third-place finish in a time of 25:25 while Rathke and Joslin also finished in the top-10 at seventh and ninth, respectively. Rathke completed in the race in 25:40 while Joslin finished in 25:45.

Tarleton's other two scoring members were freshmen Dylan Willet and Thorne Pettigrew, who finished 24th and 38th, respectively. Willet completed in a time of 26:33 while Pettigrew finished in 27:05.

Also competing for Tarleton were James Polasek (27:10) and Jeffrey Currie (28:15), who finished 40th and 52nd.

In the 6K women's event, Tarleton finished behind Eastern New Mexico, Angelo State, Incarnate Word, Midwestern State and West Texas A&M.

Meyer led the team with a 14th-place finish in a time of 23:13 while the next closest TexAnn was freshman Katelin Huckabee in 31st place at 24:08.

Karen Ramming (24:42) and Ashley Husbands (24:47) finished just five seconds apart for 38th and 39th place, while Kyndall Trnka was the final TexAnn scorer in 42nd place at 24:53.

Payton Shoush (25:22) and Lauren Finley (25:28) finished 47th and 48th, respectively, to round out the Tarleton runners.

Tarleton's men went into the tournament ranked No. 9 in the South Central Region.
