TexAnns ranked No. 4 in first regional ranking release

STEPHENVILLE - The first regional ranking poll of the season was released today and the TexAnns are sitting at No. 4 in the South Central Region.

Ahead of the TexAnns are MIAA schools, Pittsburg State and Washburn, as well as Northeastern State, an independent school formerly of the Lone Star Conference.

Pittsburg is the No. 1 seed and will host the NCAA regional tournament if it can maintain its current position atop the region.

Coming in the fifth through eight spots are Midwestern State, Emporia State, Central Missouri and Arkansas Tech, respectively, while West Texas A&M and Newman are on the outside-looking-in at the nine and 10 spots.

The top eight teams in the regional rankings will make the NCAA regional tournament.

If the conference tournament champion from each region conference is not already a member of the top-eight, however, the tournament champion will receive an automatic berth into the tournament and bypass the lowest seeded team.

The region's conference's are the Lone Star, MIAA, Great American and Heartland.
