AUSTIN - Jeff Smith finished third in the 400-meter hurdles in the finals of the Texas Relays in Austin Saturday with a time of 52.21.

Also competing in the finals Saturday was senior sprinter Jamal Mays, who finished ninth with a time of 10.73. Fellow Tarleton runners Lindsey Hinton, Nikki McNorton, Paige Klein, Shelby Terry and Jenna Duncan also competed in the relays this weekend.

The seven competitors return home and will prepare for next weekend's David Noble Relays at Angelo State.
