STEPHENVILLE – The field is set for the Lone Star Conference Championship Softball Tournament and the TexAnns have earned the right to the No. 3 seed.
 
“You don't get many second chances to right a wrong in life or in softball," said Tarleton head coach Julie Mata. "I believe the whole team and I will be intent on getting some things right in this tournament that we felt like we have gotten wrong in preceding weeks.

"The girls were very focused and fought hard in this series against a tough Incarnate Word team and I think it is a good momentum boost for what is next," she added.
 
The TexAnns will begin the tournament against No. 6 seed Midwestern State at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the quarterfinals of the single elimination tournament.
 
The winner of the Tarleton-Midwestern game will advance to the semifinals where they will meet the winner of the Texas Woman's-Incarnate Word game Saturday at noon.
 
The tournament will be played at Texas Woman's University on the northeast side of the campus and tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children five and under will be admitted free and tickets will go on sale 90 minutes before each game.
