CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.- The National Golf Coaches Association announced their annual NCAA Division II Awards Wednesday and honored three TexAnns for their efforts on the course this season.

Just one week after a top five finish at the National Championships in Louisville, Ky.  Tarleton had three members named to All-American and All-Region teams.

Sharon Lau, the reigning LSC Academic Player of the Year, was named second team All-American for her performances this season.

Jacqueline Lau, the LSC Player of the Year, earned honorable mention honors for her showing at the conference, regional and national championship events.

Katy Ward, Tarleton's No. 1 golfer heading into the finals in Kentucky, was named all-West Region after taking first place overall at the regional championships in Litchfield, Ariz.

Head coach Jerry Doyle talked about the awards given to the recognized TexAnns.

"It is an honor for me as a coach and as a member of Tarleton Athletics to be witness to these girls' extraordinary achievements," said Doyle.  "They worked hard all season long and competed with the best golfers in the nation.  I am proud of them and they deserve everything they have received."

The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
