Sydney Kings sign US Point Guard – Corin Henry

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Sydney Kings Head Coach, Shane Heal, announced the signing of dynamic Point Guard,Corin Henry, as the first of two potential imports for the 2012-2013 NBL season.
 
Corin has been described as an extremely quick point guard who can really stretch out the floor with his speed. He is very good at reading the passing lanes and getting his hands on passes. He also has a strong scoring ability across the court and is known to be a great team player.
 
HBA Sports reported that 'teams will have a hard time keeping him out of the paint because of his quickness and ball handling ability, He also utilise his speed on defence getting into position with his body before his time opponents have time to react.'
 
“While Corin Henry is only 178cm, (5'10”) in stature, he plays with a big heart. He is a great defender that will be very disruptive for the opposition. Corin is as comfortable scoring as he is creating for teammates and is impressive with in his maturity during his games for such a young player,” the HBA report concluded.
 
Head Coach, Shane Heal, said that Corin Henry would form an integral part of theSydney Kings roster for the 2012-2013 season.
 
“Along with our announced signings of our new and returning Australian players, as our import, Corin Henry will be an important addition to our roster and our team's success. He has extreme quickness and an ability to get to the hoop to score or create opportunities for the rest of the team,” Coach Heal said.
 
 “Our fans have been calling out for an exciting American Point Guard and in Corin Henry they will see a player whowill fire up the Kingdome, controlling a game, and who is also a very good defender all over the court,” he added.
 
“I'm really looking forward to working with Corin and helping his development in the point guard position, and adding his enthusiasm to the team. He is a great signing and one that will make a great contribution to the Sydney Kings.
 
“Corin plays with a maturity above his youthful 24 year of age and has some outstanding statistics with his previous club, Naestved, in Denmark,” Coach Heal said.
 
While in Denmark, Corin won the Canal Digital Ligaen Defensive Player of the Year. He was made a CDL 2012 All Star. During the regular season, Corin was the league leader in assists and steals and ran third across the league in scoring.
