The 1959 Tarleton State Men's Sprint Relay Team, which consisted of Franklin Wood, Jacky Russell, Guy Golden and Larry Jones, were the National Junior College Track & Field Champions in the 440-yard sprint relay event. The sprint relay team was Tarleton's first-ever national championship team in school history.
