STEPHENVILLE, Texas — For the second time in three weeks, Tarleton State junior sprinter Victoria Cameron has been named the WAC's Female Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday. Cameron is the first Texan woman to earn multiple weekly awards this season. Cameron won her first of the outdoor season on April 8th. She is one of two Texan women to earn the honor this season. On the men's side, five different Texans have each claimed the honor once. This past weekend, Cameron claimed a pair of victories at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in her season debut in the 200 meters and in the 4x100-meter relay. The Stephenville, Texas, native, started her weekend off winning the 200 meters in front of a full crowd on Friday night. She won her heat and posted the fastest time in the entire field running in 23.05 seconds. She was just 0.01 seconds off her school record wind-legal time from a season ago. On Saturday, she ran the first 4x100 relay of the team's outdoor season clocking in at 43.70 seconds, just 0.04 seconds behind the school record set last season by the Second Team All-American squad. After her performances at last weekend's home meet, she now ranks in the top 50 in both the NCAA and NCAA West in three categories. In the 200, Cameron has the 42nd fastest time in the NCAA. She will need to be in the top 48 of the NCAA West Region to earn a spot at the NCAA West First Rounds at the end of May. Currently she ranks 18th in the NCAA West. In the 4x100 meter relay, the squad posted the 27th best time in the NCAA this season and currently rank 13th  in the West Region. Tarleton State Track and Field will continue its outdoor slate with its penultimate weekend of the regular season.
