Football - Awards - Good Works


Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association partner to present 22 student-athletes each year to the Allstate Good Works team.
The 22 student-athletes from Division I, Division II and Division III programs are honored for making outstanding contributions in the area of volunteerism and civic involvement.

2009

Jacob Rowe

Jr • Defensive End

In 2009, Jacob Rowe became the first Tarleton Texan to be named to the 22-man Allstate/AFCA Good Works Team. The junior defensive end earned 14 tackles, four for a loss and a sack after missing the first five games due to injury. Off the field, Rowe was involved with several church ministries while also hosting student-athlete Bible studies on campus.

2010

Brandon Johnson

In 2010, Brandon Johnson became the second Texan named to the Good Works Team - and the second in as many seasons. Johnson participated in Fantastic Field Day, Rock the Gym, Meals on Wheels, Angel League and Tarleton Round-Up. He also helped several senior citizens through moving furniture, cleaning yards and houses, painting and other household chores.
