STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton closed out the 2015 season with a come-from-behind 48-47 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

The Texans (3-7) scored all 48 points in the second half after trailing 17-0 at halftime.

After coming in at quarterback late in the second quarter,
Derek Kiser got the Texans on the board on a 1-yard run on the opening drive of the third quarter to make the score 17-7.

It was the start of seven straight drives the Texans would score on in the second half.

Kiser threw his first of three touchdown passes to
Joseph Sadler from three yards out to make it a 20-14 game. Kiser also threw for 202 yards on 16-of-21 passing.

Sadler would later score on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter. The junior running back finished with a career-high 151 yards on the ground, his third 100-yard game of the season.

After
Jeremy Louis intercepted an OPSU pass, Kiser connected with
Le'Nard Meyers on the next play for a 26-yard touchdown that gave Tarleton its first lead at 28-27 heading into the fourth quarter.

With the score tied at 35-all, Kiser once again went to Meyers, this time for a 14-yard touchdown that put Meyers atop the Tarleton record books.

Meyers' two touchdown receptions in the game gave the senior wide receiver the most touchdown receptions in Tarleton football history with 27. Meyers finished the season with 75 receptions, 1,034 yards and 15 touchdowns.

OPSU would score on the ensuing drive on a 29-yard run by Shane Truelove, but the Aggies went for two and couldn't convert that left Tarleton with the slim 42-41 lead.

The Aggies would go for the onside kick, but Sadler recovered the Texans and returned it 22 yards to the OPSU 16 yard line.
Jabari Anderson would score from 16 yards out on the next play to put Tarleton up 48-41 with 2:11 on the clock.

OPSU capped off an 8-play drive when Truelove found Eddie Thomas for a 6-yard touchdown, but the Aggies' two-point attempt for the lead came up short and Tarleton would run out the clock to clinch the win.

Defensively for the Texans,
Cody Burtscher had a team-high 12 tackles along with an interception and a sack.
Chase Varnado racked up six tackles and 1.5 sacks on the game.

Tarleton finished with 434 yards of offense in the win.
