STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton's Chase Moore and Adam Phillips scored the first points for the Tarleton Track and Field team with a fourth and fifth place finish in the Lone Star Conference Decathlon, respectively.

Tarleton, who hosted this year's event and will host the conference track and field meet on Friday and Satruday, April 21-22, heads into the rest of the meet with six points. 

Winning the event was Ryan McWilliams of Angelo State with a total of 6,708 points while teammate Jason Simmons finished second with 6,491 points.  Isaac Saldivar from Texas A&M-Kingsville finished third with 6,411 points.  All three point totals are provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division Outdoor Championships.

Rusty Bookout also competed for the Texans and finshed with 3,936 points in eighth place.
