Tarleton Sports Internship Program

The Tarleton Sports Internship program is designed to provide students at Tarleton State University with a wide range of field experiences in the athletic communications, social media brand management, and broadcasting field working with 17 NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletic teams, as well as spirit organizations. To accomplish the overall goal of providing this experience, there are a few obligations that will be necessary for you to complete.

During this internship there is a sincere hope that a large exchange of information will take place that will be beneficial to all parties involved and hopefully this experience will be one of the most fruitful experiences in your college career.

Students in the Tarleton Sports Internship program will be expected to work all available home events with varying office hours to allow opportunity to work with an assortment of teams. Travel opportunities are also available.

The Internship offers four tracks of study, outlined below:

     •     Production: All things related to putting on live video broadcasts for ESPN+, including camera operations, graphics, directing, talent shadow, etc.
     •     Statistics/Sports Information: Keeping game stats and sports writing intensive.
     •     Creative: Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, and the like.
     •     Marketing/Game Day Ops: Engaging with fans, enhancing game atmosphere, game day ops, etc.

Some of the benefits of participation in the Tarleton Sports Internship include, but are not limited to:

    •      Job experience in an NCAA Division I Athletic Communications department
    •      Exposure to NCAA Athletic Events and job responsibilities
    •      College Credit for multiple years (if approved)
    •      Earned Recommendations
    •      Opportunity for advancement into paid positions, such as graduate assistants
    •      Athletic gear (when available)
