Texan Cheer
The Tarleton State University Cheerleaders pride themselves in being one of the most enthusiastic and outgoing groups at the university. They rank among Tarleton State's most visible student organizations and feature a solid core of campus leaders. The Texan Cheerleaders' role as a role model to the rest of the community is one that will never be taken for granted.
The Tarleton State Cheerleaders are active throughout the entire school year, attending and performing at most of the university's home football, basketball, and volleyball events while also traveling to many of the road contests. Additionally, the Tarleton State Cheerleaders perform for those in attendance at the Tarleton Rally, Midnight Madness, pep rallies and many of the homecoming activities. Being such a major part of an ever-growing university is one of the best things about being a Texan Cheerleader.
Tarleton State's Cheerleaders have also become a force to be reckoned with from a competition standpoint. Tarleton State shows off around the state of Texas before taking to the beach each spring. Trips to Daytona Beach, Florida, for national competition hosted by the National Cheerleading Association have become one of the highlights of each new year for the Texan Cheer Squad. Just this past year Tarleton State won the NCA National Championship in the Spirit Rally Division for the first time. This is the third NCA National Championship Title adding to the 2023 and 2018 NCA Game Day Champions.
In addition to scholarships, the Tarleton State Cheerleaders also receive two hours physical education credit, which is transferable and applicable to most degree plans. They may also waive out of state tuition for all out of state students.
