DENTON - The No. 20 Tarleton TexAnn tennis team dropped a non-conference match to North Texas on Wednesday, falling 6-0 to the Mean Green at Waranch Tennis Complex on the UNT campus.

Mariana Freitas and Rocio Cabanillas fell to Irina Paraschiv and Amy Joubert, 8-1, in No. 1 doubles, while Evgeniya Prokofeva and Jade Charlot dropped their No. 2 doubles match to Catalina Cruz and Barbora Vykydalova, 8-0.

In singles action, Freitas fell to Paula Dinuta (6-1, 6-0) in the first flight, while Cabanillas dropped a set (6-3, 6-2) to Vykydalova in the second flight. No. 3 singles saw Charlot fall (6-1, 6-3) to Cruz before Carole Julen dropped her set to Joubert (6-3, 6-2) in the fourth flight. Prokofeva fell (6-4, 6-3) to Ashley Akin in No. 5 singles.

The TexAnns will return to action on Friday, Feb. 19 with a pair of non-conference matches against Incarnate Word and St. Mary's in San Antonio. The TexAnns and Cardinals are set to begin play at 10 a.m.
