BAYTOWN - The No. 20 Tarleton TexAnn tennis team will return to the court this weekend as the team travels to compete in the Lady Rebel Invitational at Lee College in Baytown.

The TexAnns will play tournament host Lee College on Friday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. and will conclude the day's action against Trinity at 3 p.m. Tarleton will finish-out the tournament against Prairie View A&M on Saturday at 9 a.m. All matches will be played at the Lee College Tennis Courts.

The TexAnns are coming off a successful spring season where Jade Charlot and Mariana Freitas each won singles titles in last October's Lone Star Conference Individual Championships in Wichita Falls. Charlot won the third flight and Freitas won the sixth flight. Adriana Jaskova and Carole Julen both teamed up to win a title in No. 3 doubles at the championships as well.

Evgeniya Prokofeva and Charlot were teamed together in No. 2 doubles and finished second. Rocio Cabanillas and Freitas each advanced to the semifinals after teaming up in the first flight of doubles action.

Jaskova won her first three rounds at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championships before falling in the quarterfinal match.

Following the tournament this weekend in Baytown, Tarleton will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark. to compete in the Henderson State Reddies Tournament next weekend.
