- Complete National Rankings
- Complete South Central Regional Rankings
SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Tarelton TexAnn tennis team moved up one spot in both the national and regional rankings according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released on Tuesday. The TexAnns currently rank No. 20 nationally and No. 3 in the South Central Region.
“We still have a lot more matches to play and those matches will go a long way to where we will be ranked at the end of the season,” Tarleton head tennis coach Lance Drake said. “The remaining matches we have left all have regional implications for us as well.”
The TexAnns are currently 9-5 overall this spring season following a 7-2 Lone Star Conference win over East Central in Stephenville last week. The win included Adrianna Jaskova downing then No. 21-ranked Julia Arguello (6-7, 7-5, 6-3) in No. 1 singles play. Jaskova currently ranks No. 46 nationally with Arguello behind her at No. 47.
Jaskova also ranks No. 5 in singles play in the south central region. Cameron's Amanda Moberg currently ranks No. 1 in the singles rankings, while Northeastern State's Zuuana Osinka and Emina Spirtovic top the doubles rankings.
Tarleton returns to the court this weekend with a home match against St. Mary's. Doubles matches will begin at 2 p.m. at the Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts in Stephenville.
