SAN ANGELO – The Tarleton TexAnn softball team dropped two games Friday at the 2011 Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament in San Angelo, thanks in part by mistakes in the field.

The TexAnns, who lost to East Central, 4-2, and Northeastern State, 5-2, tallied six errors on Friday in the two games at the Texas Bank Sports Complex.

Katie Smith pitched one of the best games I have seen her throw today, and defensively, we let her down,” said Tarleton head coach Julie Mata. “I love this team, and we are much, much better than what we showed today.”

Tarleton fell to 16-14-1 on the season with the two losses.

The TexAnns will play Central Oklahoma at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 before playing Southwestern Oklahoma at 4:30 p.m.
