INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA released their All-Region teams Tuesday and named Tarleton freshman sprinter Derekia Coleman to the South Central All-Region squad in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.

The Fairfield native has provisionally qualified in both events, with personal bests of 11.91 in the 100-meter race and 24.78 in the 200-meter race.  Coleman holds the best times in the Lone Star Conference this season in both events as well.  For her efforts, she has been named LSC Track Athlete of the Week on two seperate occasions.

Not only has Coleman made her mark on the conference scene all season, but she also finished second in the 100m and 200m at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Stephenville on May 8th.

With the NCAA Division II championship participant list being released Tuesday as well, Coleman will look to put Tarleton back on the national radar for track and field.
