The teams have met 46 times since their inaugural meeting in 2002 and the TexAnns trail the all-time series record 12-34. Tarleton recorded its first-ever victory over Angelo on April 6, 2002 with a 5-1 win in Stephenville and the TexAnns were also on top the last time these two teams met - on April 20 last season in San Angelo when Tarleton won 7-5. Tarleton is 7-13 all-time against the Rambelles in Stephenville.
MATA'S 500-WIN WATCH
With the win over Rogers State last weekend, Tarleton head coach
Julie Mata is now at 495 wins in her TexAnn Softball coaching career. After a stellar playing career as a basketball star for the TexAnns in the late 80's and early 90's, Mata took over as the head softball coach in the school's second season of 1997 and has lifted the TexAnns into national prominence. Now, Mata is on the verge of a momentous accomplishment in her career - 500 victories.
