On Saturday, Tarleton will recognize the four seniors on the team after the second game while we will honor the student-athletes of Tarleton throughout the day, including having Mackenzie Mitchell from the TexAnn tennis team throw out the first pitch to start National Student-Athlete Appreciation Day.
LAST TIME OUTThe TexAnns are riding the momentum wave of a Tuesday night doubleheader in Odessa over Texas-Permian Basin.
Randi Fentress and the offense routed the Falcons with a 9-1 victory before
Brenna Hennan and
Amber Clifford secured the sweep in game two. Clifford hit a game-winning three-run homer on her birthday while Hennan tossed a near-perfect game, allowing only one seventh-inning hit to the Falcons, en route to the win.
SERIES HISTORYThis will be meeting No. 25-28 between the TexAnns and Aggies dating back to the inaugural meeting in 1996. Tarleton won the 10 games of the series from 1996 to 2008. Since March 30, 2008, however, the TexAnns hold a slim 7-6-1 lead in the series, including winning two of three in Stephenville last season.
