LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton State Is coming off a sweep last weekend to Midwestern State in Wichita Falls. The TexAnns were up 5-1 in the opening game of the series but a 10-run fifth inning turned the tide in MSU's favor as they went on to take the three-game set.

SERIES HISTORY
The TexAnns and Pioneers have met 68 times since the inaugural meeting in 1997 with Tarleton holding the all-time series lead 43-25. After TWU took four of the first five games in 1997, the TexAnns dominated the series from 1998 to 2003 - winning 22 of the 26 meetings over that stretch and never losing back-to-back games to the Pioneers. Since the 2004 season, however, things have been relatively tight with Tarleton holding a slim 20-17 lead in the series. Tarleton won the last meeting between the teams as a three-run blast from Erika Menchaca lifted Tarleton to a 7-5 win in the home finale.

TARLETON'S POSTSEASON HISTORY
In the 19-year history of Tarleton Softball, this season marks the 13th trip to the postseason for the TexAnns with all of the postseason trips coming under the direction of head coach Julie Mata. The LSC Tournament was double elimination through the 2011 season before switching to a single-elimination format in 2012.

MENCHACA AGAINST THE PIONEERS
Prior to the last doubleheader against the Pioneers, freshman Erika Menchaca had just two home runs on the season but she doubled her season total with two bombs in two games, including the game winner in game two. This season against TWU, Menchaca is hitting .571 with a double, two home runs and five RBIs with a slugging percentage of 1.571.

HEADING TO THE TOURNAMENT
Tarleton will continue to play through the LSC Tournament with each victory. With a win Friday, Tarleton would advance to play the No. 2 seeded Angelo State Rambelles at 4 p.m. Friday.
