THE GAME
Tarleton State, who is currently ranked No. 8 in the South Central regional polls, will begin its pursuit of the Lone Star Conference Tournament championship crown in an 11 a.m. quarterfinal matchup against Texas A&M-Commerce at Schaeffer Park in Canyon Friday.

THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play for Tarleton softball this postseason. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch.

THE OPPONENT
Texas A&M-Commerce earned the final berth into the tournament and are currently ranked No. 9 in the South Central regional polls in just its first year of the softball program. The Lions enter the tournament with an overall record of 29-23 and a conference record of 12-14.

THE SERIES
Tarleton and Texas A&M-Commerce began the all-time series in Stephenville earlier this season and split the series 2-2. Tarleton won the first game 4-3 and the second 11-10 to sweep the series-opening doubleheader.
Erika Menchaca walked off both of Tarleton's wins against the Lions with game-winning RBI singles.

The TexAnns and Lions are both fighting for their NCAA playoffs lives following the latest release of the regional poll. Tarleton State checked in at No. 8 while Texas A&M-Commerce debuted in the polls at No. 9.

TARLETON'S LSC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The TexAnns boast the most appearances in the LSC Championship Tournament in the conference since the league's first tournament in 1997, which was also the first year of
Julie Mata's tenure at Tarleton. This marks the 14
th trip to the LSC Tournament for the TexAnns since their first trip in 1998.

ENTERING OFF A SWEEP
This marks the third time in school history, joining the 2005 and 2013 seasons, that Tarleton State has entered the LSC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a sweep. Tarleton swept a four-game series in Portales against Eastern New Mexico last weekend.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton State will continue through the postseason tournament with every win. The winner of Friday's quarterfinal will turnaround quickly for the semifinal round against No. 2 seed Texas Woman's at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. If Tarleton advances to the tournament championship game, it will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
