SAN ANGELO – Tarleton fell in straight sets to No. 10 Angelo State at the Junell Center in San Angelo Wednesday night.
Â
The opening set started with the TexAnns taking three of the first five points before Angelo State went on a 16-9 run over the next 25 points to put Tarleton down 18-9.
Â
The TexAnns refused to quit, however, as the Purple and White went on to score 11 of the next 16 points to force an Angelo State timeout at 20-23. Out of the break,
Hailey Roberts powered down her seventh kill of the opening set to bring the score to 21-23 before the Rambelles answered with the final two points of the set to take the opening set.
Â
The second set was a similar story as the TexAnns battled to an 8-8 tie over the opening 16 points, but the Rambelles answered with a 16-6 run to take a set-high advantage at 24-14. The TexAnns scored on back-to-back points before an attack error ended the set for Angelo.
Â
In the third set, Tarleton scored six of the first 10 points for a 6-4 lead. After Angelo took the lead, the TexAnns pulled back within one at 11-12 but the Rambelles pulled away with a 13-5 run over the rest of the set to take the game 25-16.
Â
Hailey Roberts led the team with 16 kills while
Autumn Taylor accounted for seven kills.
Jordyn Keamo dished out 29 assists while
Adrianna Knutson (14) and
Alissa Johnson (10) cracked double digits in digs.
Â

Fans will receive free admission Friday night for bringing select food items to benefit the Tarleton Food Pantry. There will be free rally towels for fans Saturday.
