TexAnns blast Cameron in home finale

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton volleyball collected its third straight sweep with a convincing win over Cameron (25-11, 25-20, 25-15) on senior day at the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.
 
It's the fourth straight win for Tarleton, who improved to 22-5 overall and 14-4 in the Lone Star Conference. The TexAnns finished the season 12-2 at home, which is tied for the second most home wins in program history. It's the 16th sweep of the season for Tarleton, which continues to surpass the previous school record of 14 sweeps set back in 2008.
 
The TexAnns recognized four seniors before the game: Rebecca Dauenhauer, Abby Mackey, Rebecca Schlorff and Autumn Taylor.
 
Tarleton registered a .351 hitting percentage while holding Cameron (3-24, 1-17) to a .160 percentage. It's the fifth time this season that Tarleton has hit over .350 in a match.
 
The TexAnns jumped out to 6-0 advantage to start the opening set and kept the momentum rolling for an 11-2 lead with kills from three of the four seniors: Dauenhauer, Taylor and Mackey. Mackey gave Tarleton a 10-point lead at 19-9 on a kill that was assisted by Jordyn Keamo and the TexAnns followed with five straight points to lead 24-9. Mackey powered down another of her 10 kills for the final point of the opening set.
 
Tarleton and Cameron split the first 18 points of the second set before the TexAnns went on a 9-1 run for an 18-10 lead in the second set. Hannah McManus and Keamo had aces during the stretch while the TexAnns received kills from Keamo, Roberts, Dauenhauer and Mackey. After Cameron pulled to within 19-15, Tarleton took a timeout and pulled away after for the 25-20 set win and a 2-0 lead in the match.
 
The TexAnns went to work in the third set and led 9-4 early after Schlorff's ace. Cameron would make it a 2-point game at 9-7, but the TexAnns went on a 3-0 run and never let their lead get less than four throughout the set. Leading 19-14, Tarleton closed the match out by scoring six of the final seven points to complete the sweep.
 
In their final home game, Mackey had 10 kills on a .389 hitting percentage and two blocks. Taylor also had 10 kills at a .391 percentage and a block. Dauenhauer had three kills and three blocks and Schlorff had six digs, two assists and an ace.
 
Roberts posted a game-high 18 kills at a .452 percentage while blocking three shots and recording five digs. Jordyn Keamo had 39 assists, eight digs and a pair of aces.
 
Adrianna Knutson posted a team-high 14 digs, giving the sophomore 430 digs on the year and is 27 digs from moving into 10th place on the school's single-season digs list. McManus had a game-high five blocks.
 
Tarleton will travel west to New Mexico to close out the regular season and take on Western New Mexico on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. and then play Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
