COMMERCE – Tarleton dropped both games of Saurday's series finale doubleheader at John Cain Family Field to Texas A&M-Commerce.

A walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the seventh broke up an otherwise superb pitching performance from
Haley Freyman.

Freyman, who recorded her 40
th career win to become one of seven TexAnns in school history with 40 career victories, threw her third straight complete game of the series with six innings of work, over which she allowed two runs on nine hits and four walks with a pair of strikeouts.

She also stranded 10 Lion base runners over the course of the seven innings en route to her 24
th complete game of the season, which leads all Lone Star Conference pitchers.

Meanwhile, the Tarleton offense earned four base hits from
Melody Mayse,
Lauren Powers,
Katelyn Conlee, and
Shelby Hedrick. Mayse scored Tarleton's lone run of the afternoon after she blasted a two-ouot triple to centerfield and came in to score on a throwing error by the shortstop.

Game 2: Texas A&M-Commerce 13, Tarleton 0 (5)

Tarleton suffered its fourth shutout of the season with a 13-0 loss in the series finale to the Lions Saturday.

Texas A&M-Commerce scored three in the first, three in the third, and seven in the fourth while Tarleton amassed just three base hits in the game. Tarleton got three singles from
Nyka Wood, Conlee, and
Avery Mullendore in the loss.

The TexAnns will return home next weekend for a four-game series with Cameron beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
