STEPHENVILLE – After suffering their first loss of the season on Friday, the TexAnns responded with an impressive 3-1 win over Colorado Christian to close out the Tarleton Invitational on Saturday.

Tarleton (7-1) built a 7-4 lead early in the first set with kills from
Chandler Gow and
Autumn Taylor and an ace from
Hailey Roberts. The TexAnn lead would grow to as much as four points at 19-15 with two straight kills from
Hannah McManus, but Colorado Christian went on a 5-0 run for a 21-19 lead and eventually won the set 26-24.

With CCU leading 12-9 in the second set, Tarleton went on a 4-0 run with two kills each from McManus and Roberts, both of which were named to the All-Tournament team voted on by the coaches. The quick change in momentum carried on throughout the set for Tarleton as they never trailed again. The TexAnns put the set out of reach with a 6-2 to run that ended with
Michaela Rodriguez's ace to win 25-19 and even the match at 1-1.

Tarleton and CCU split the first 20 points of the third set with neither team leading by more than two points. The TexAnns faced a 20-16 deficit, but
Abby Mackey and Roberts combined for 10 kills for the final 11 points including Mackey delivering with three straight kills to end the set that gave Tarleton the 27-25 win and a 2-1 lead in the match.

The TexAnns put CCU away early in the fourth frame with
Jordyn Keamo serving four aces, including three straight, in the first eight points for an 8-2 advantage. Tarleton later went on a 4-0 run and McManus' kill gave the TexAnns a double-digit lead at 15-5. The TexAnns kept the engine rolling and maintained the lead en route to a 25-15 win.

Roberts led all players with 22 kills in the match and added 18 digs for the double-double.
Abby Mackey posted a career-highs with 11 kills and four blocks.
Rebecca Dauenhauer also had a career-best nine kills and four blocks in the game. McManus finished with eight kills and four blocks.

Jordyn Keamo had 57 assists, nine digs and six aces for Tarleton. Defensively,
Adrianna Knutson continues to lead the TexAnns with a game-high 19 digs while Michael Rodriguez added 10 digs.

Tarleton will open Lone Star Conference play at home against Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.
