Tarleton to take part in North Texas Softball Bash in Grand Prairie this weekend

THE GAMES
The TexAnns will head to Grand Prairie this weekend for six games as a part of the North Texas Softball Bash. Tarleton will play two games each day, beginning with a doubleheader against Oklahoma Christian and Lubbock Christian at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Friday. The TexAnns will play at the same times on Saturday against Colorado Christian and Oklahoma Panhandle before wrapping up with a 12:30 and 2 p.m. twin bill against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Regis on Sunday afternoon.
 
ABOUT THE TEXANNS
Tarleton opened the season with three straight wins last weekend at the Southern Arkansas Invitational, including a season-opening one-hit shutout by Haley Freyman on opening day. The TexAnn offense saw four players hit over .400 at the dish during opening weekend, including .500-hitting performances from Savannah Stech and Megan Durante. Nyka Wood hit .462 while leading the team with seven RBIs while Maddie Quintanar hit .438 in her college debut.
 
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The tournament, which was organized by Lubbock Christian University, will be played at Jennifer McFalls Park at 1260 SW 3rd St. in Grand Prairie, Texas and will be the host to 11 teams this weekend. Joining Tarleton will be the six TexAnn opponents for the weekend – Oklahoma Christian, Lubbock Christian, Colorado Christian, Oklahoma Panhandle, Northwestern Oklahoma State, and Regis – as well as Eastern New Mexico, Southern Arkansas, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Woman's, and UT Permian Basin.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate only.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The TexAnns will make their home debut next weekend for the beginning of Lone Star Conference action when Tarleton hosts Texas A&M-Commerce for three games, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
