A LOOK AT LAST TIME OUT
The Tarleton TexAnns stayed hot by topping No. 22 St. Mary's 7-2 to close out the St. Mary's College Classic and improve to 10-0 on the season. The TexAnns were originally scheduled to play the Rattlers and Regis on Sunday, but the coaches mutually agreed to cancel the game to allow Regis to opportunity to begin its journey home.
LSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Withrow was named the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week after leading the TexAnns to two of their four wins at the St. Mary's College Classic in San Antonio last weekend. Withrow was stellar for the TexAnns in the pitching circle as the sophomore pitched Tarleton to wins over Texas Woman's and No. 22 St. Mary's. Withrow's weekend started with her first complete game shutout of the season as she blanked Texas Woman's for seven innings and struck out 12 Saturday.
INSIDE THE SERIES: ST. EDWARD'S
Tarleton and St. Edward's have a 50-game history, which dates all the way back to Tarleton's inaugural 1996 season. The Hilltoppers hold a slim 26-24 edge in the all-time series, including a 12-8 mark in Austin. Tarleton has, however, won five in a row against the Hilltoppers since 2016.
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton is expected to begin its Lone Star Conference slate this weekend with three games in Commerce against the Lions, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
