HILTON HEAD, S.C. – For the first time this season, the No. 19 TexAnns pulled off a clean sweep as Tarleton defeated Edinboro (Pa.) 9-0 to wrap up their spring break road trip to Hilton Head Island.
 
"It was very unfortunate that we couldn't play yesterday," said head coach Lance Drake. "It was about 30 degrees this morning when we started the match, but we made some good adjustments throughout the day. It was a good way to finish up the road trip."
 
Taleton started out with a doubles sweep as Erika Johnston and Chrystalynn Shirley handled the No. 3 match 8-0 while the top two-seeded Tarleton teams took care of the No. 1 and 2 matches by scores of 8-3.
 
Alicia Barbaroux had the tightest set of the afternoon as she survived a 7-5 win in the opening set before handling the second 6-0 to claim her sixth singles win of the season. The remaining five TexAnns handled their business by combined scores of 52-10.

Tarleton will play its first home match of the season next Friday when the TexAnns host Texas A&M-Kingsville on March 23 at 1 p.m. in Lone Star Conference action.
