LAWTON, OK – Tarleton and Metro State met at a neutral site for a regional match and the shorthanded TexAnns came up just short in a 5-4 loss to the Roadrunners.
The TexAnns spotted Metro State two points due to limited roster sizes but did not let that keep them from pushing the Roadrunners to the wire Friday afternoon.
Metro State took a 2-1 advantage after doubles with an 8-6 win in the No. 2 match and a free point by default from the No. 3 spot, but Tarleton's
Alicia Barbaroux and
Sherine Salem delivered Tarleton's first win of the afternoon with an 8-6 win in the top-seeded match.
Tarleton came back to win three of the singles points, but losses in the No. 1, 5 and 6 match delivered the victory to Metro State.
