THE GAMES
Tarleton Softball will finish a stretch of seven straight home games this week when the TexAnns host Western New Mexico. Tarleton will play back-to-back doubleheaders on Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m.
CFC AWARENESS WEEKEND
This weekend Tarleton will host the inaugural CFC Awareness Weekend. CFC (Cardio-Facio-Cutaneous) Syndrome is a rare, genetic condition that typically affects the heart, facial features, and skin. Jacoby Conger, the youngest son of Tarleton's head baseball coach
Bryan Conger, has this condition and will throw out the first pitch of Tarleton's baseball doubleheader against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, March 24. For more information about Jacoby and the Conger family, visit TarletonSports.com for the feature 'When Life Threw a Curveball.'
On Friday night, all fans are encouraged to visit Chili's Bar and Grill in Stephenville. Chili's will be taking part in the festivities by donating 10 percent of all sales to CFC International. Steel City Pops will also donate 20 percent of its proceeds on Saturday to CFC.
Saturday will be a big day at the ball fields as Tarleton will host a silent auction and a post-game concert by country music star, Courtney Patton. In addition to the auction and concert, there will also be catered food trucks on site throughout the day and a bounce house for kids. The teams will be wearing CFC-inspired apparel and fans will receive free wristbands and hats, while supplies last. The silent auction will take place on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. under the shaded area in between the baseball and softball facilities. A few of sale items includes:
• A framed jersey of Hall of Fame baseball coach Jack Allen, courtesy of Frames Etc.
• Kendra Scott necklace and earring set
• Mystery Bag, courtesy of Texas Bank
• Multiple tickets to Texas Rangers Baseball games, including Opening Day
• Much more
The postgame concert by Courtney Patton will take place in the baseball parking lot at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex and will begin at 7:30 p.m., following the baseball and softball games.

A LOOK AT LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton swept St. Mary's in a two-game series and Friends Univ. (Kan) in a single game in Stephenville. The TexAnns are currently riding an eight-game winning streak, which is the second longest streak in the LSC.
TEXANNS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
For the first time this season and the ninth time in program history, Tarleton Softball is among the nation's top 25 programs in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association ranking. This week is the first time Tarleton has been in the NFCA poll since being ranked No. 25 on March 2, 2016. Only 14 votes separate the No. 23, 24 and 25 teams in the rankings – California Baptist (50), Valdosta State (42) and Tarleton (36).
ROSEWELL TABBED LSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Megan Rosewell was fantastic from the pitching circle in two starts against Northeastern State and Texas A&M-Kingsville and it was enough to garner the senior right-hander her first career LSC Pitcher of the Week award. She threw 13.0 innings in two games with a 0.00 ERA and allowed nine hits and two walks while striking out five to improve to 6-0 for the season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and Western New Mexico have met eight times dating back to Feb. 12, 1999. The TexAnns have the advantage, leading the all-time series at 7-1, including five straight wins since Feb. 17, 2007.
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The TexAnns will head west to take on LSC rival Angelo State in a 1-2 series beginning Thursday, March 29 at 7 p.m. then play a doubleheader Friday set to begin at 1 p.m.
