COLLEGE STATION – The Tarleton men's and women's cross-country officially opened the season at the Texas A&M Invitational. The Texans came away with a second-place finish and the TexAnns finished 12
th.

The Texans completed an 8,000-meter course while the TexAnns completed a 6,000-meter course against Division I competition.
Johen Deleon was the top finisher for the Texans, running a time of 24:43.2 placing sixth overall.
Quenten Lasseter placed 12
th with a time of 24:59.0 while
Justin Botello came in 19
th with a time of 25:16.1.
Michael Simcho placed 25
th with a time of 25:24.2.
Kyle Doty finished the course placing 29
th with a time of 25:31.7.
Jarred Elizondo (25:54.8),
Fabion Trevino (26:06.2), and
Nicholas Mosqueda (26:38.4) finished the course 37
th, 44
th, and 65
th, respectively.
On the women's side,
Gretzel Jimenez finished 53
rd, recording a time of 23:44.5.
Meagan Riley came in 77
th place with a time of 24:25.6 while
Imani Williams finished 83
rd with a time of 24:41.7.
Andelynn Carlton placed 90
th (25:06.1),
Gwyneth Garcia finished 91
st (25:08.7), and
Taylor Richards finished 102
nd (26:02.2).
The Texans and TexAnns will travel to Mississippi College on October 6 for the Watson Ford Invitational.
