It didn't take Tarleton long to pull away in the opening set of the match as the TexAnns led 9-3 early on with kills from Strange and Hannah McManus. A 4-0 run that started with a kill by Tatyana Tuialii-Umi gave the TexAnns a 10-point lead at 19-9. Moments later, the TexAnns used a 6-0 stretch featuring a Darthuy ace, and blocks from Kersey and McManus to end the set and take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Tarleton grabbed a 15-7 lead right out of the gate in the second set and didn't let up. A 7-1 run helped propel the TexAnn lead to 17-8 and the lead never fell below seven the rest of the set as they quickly went up 2-0 in the match.

Cameron played Tarleton tight early in the third set, as the TexAnns held a slim 14-10 lead midway through the set. The TexAnn defense took over the rest of the way as three straight blocks from Elizabeth Muliaga, McManus and Kersey engineered a 10-1 run for a commanding 24-11 lead. Muliaga delivered the finishing touch to the match with a kill to complete the sweep.

Three TexAnns recorded double-digit digs in the defensive-led match, led by Adrianna Knutson with 14, followed by Michaela Rodriguez and Darthuy with 11 each. McManus had a match-leading seven blocks while Kersey added four blocks.
