STEPHENVILLE – The seniors of Tarleton Volleyball closed out their careers in Wisdom Gym in style with a four-set win (25-16, 28-30, 25-10, 25-20) over Texas Woman's to run their winning streak to a season-long seven matches.
The Texans improve to 19-9 overall and 11-5 in the Lone Star Conference. They're also 8-3 in their division, ranking second.
Tarleton recognized five seniors before the match:

Michaela Rodriguez,
Sofia Tonga,
Tatyana Tuialii-Umi and student assistant Breanna Crain
Tatyana Tuialii-Umi led all players with 21 kills, four service aces and also added seven digs.
The Texans made quick work of the Pioneers in the opening set by jumping out to an 8-2 lead.
Lauren Kersey had two kills and a block during the run, finishing the match with seven kills on a .294 hitting percentage. The lead grew to double digits on
Carmen Kinsey's kill to make it 21-11. Three attack errors in the final points gave the Texans the first set win.
Texas Woman's even the match at 1-1 in the second set. Tarleton held a 19-15 lead after an 8-0 run. TWU tied the set at 19-19 before the two teams traded points until the Pioneers won 30-28.
The Texans made a statement in the third set. Leading 6-4 early on, Tarleton went on a 19-6 run to close out the set in dominating fashion, 25-10, to go up 2-1 in the match. The Texans hit a match-high .379 and only had two attack errors the whole set. Defensively, they held TWU to a -.028 hitting percentage.
Looking to put the match away, Tarleton used a 7-1 run in the fourth set to led 15-10 at the midway point. In the final 10 points, Tuialii-Umi had five kills while
Amber Strange and
Carmen Kinsey each added two kills to put the Pioneers away. Kinsey (14 kills) and Strange (10) joined Tuialii-Umi as the three Texans to post double-digit kills in the match. Kinsey hit a team-high .367.
Defensively, the Texans had three players with double-digit digs, led by
Kayla Brannon's 22.
Adriana Darthuy (16) and
Maci Matherne (13) also led the way defensively. Brannon added a match-leading 38 assists.
Sofia Tonga had a team-high six blocks.
Tarleton will finish the regular season on the road at Angelo State on Friday, Nov. 15 and at Lubbock Christian on Saturday, Nov. 16.
