The Texans will open their 2021 campaign on the road in Nacogdoches at the SFA Invitational on Friday Jan. 22 in a double header. The first match will be between the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech at 1 P.M. and the second match will be between the Ladyjacks of Stephen F. Austin at 5 P.M.

ATTENDING THE MATCH
SFA is allowing a limited number of fans in Shelton Gym. Fans can purchase a day pass for both games
here or by calling the SFA Ticket Office at 936-468-5225. Courtside tickets are $30 and Upper Level Chairback tickets are $15.

TARLETON RETURNERS
Although the Texans have lost key seniors from the 2019 season the team is left with nine strong returners to the program.

Schindler will likely turn to junior
Kayla Brannon who led the team in assists (878) and junior
Lauren Kersey who was second to assistant student coach
Tatyana Tuialii-Umi in kills (351) and second in blocks (88) to help lead the team on the court this season.

Also, back for Schindler's team are senior
Natalya Chatham who is a solid middle on both sides of the ball and senior
Amber Strange who can terminate the ball, 252 kills on the 2019 season.

The other key returning players are sophomore
Emma Halcomb who compiled 178 digs, 48 assists and 19 service aces last season, redshirt freshman
Brianna Rhodes who recorded her first kills (3) last season, junior
Carmen Kinsey who tacked on 205 kills, 4
th highest on the team last season, junior
Amari Franklin who had 459 assists, second highest on the team last season and junior
Charlotte Bradshaw who totaled 18 kills and 15 blocks last season.
TARLETON NEWCOMERS
The Texans added three transfers to the roster who will prove to make an impact for this team as well, junior
Hali'a Swartman-Hogan transfer from Oklahoma, junior
Ana Costas transfer from Western Nebraska CC, and junior
Lorin McNeil transfer from Abilene Christian.

Next up for the Texans is their WAC debut where they will travel to Phoenix, AZ to take on Grand Canyon Jan. 25-26.

Tarleton will have just two days off after their season opener before they compete again. The new WAC season will consist of back-to-back games Monday and Tuesday of each week.
