SAN MARCOS – The offensive woes continued for Tarleton Tuesday night as the Texans were shutout 8-0 in six innings by Texas State at Bobcat Stadium.
The Texans managed only a second-inning single from Mackenzie Peterson in the hit column. A walk and an error gave Tarleton its best scoring opportunity to lead off the fifth, but the Texans couldn't capitalize.
Meanwhile, Texas State scored on four hits, seven walks and two errors. The Bobcats jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings on the long ball. An error let the sixth run score in the third and a walk-off, ground-rule double in the sixth ended it early.
The Texans will head to St. George, Utah for a three-game series at Dixie State this weekend.
