STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Tarleton and Texas A&M-Commerce met for the first time as Division 1 opponents on Tuesday evening in Wisdom Gym, and the Lions came out on top in a five-set match (20-25, 25-17, 18-25, 27-25, 7-15).

The Texans (10-11, 2-4 WAC) were unable to find their footing in the fifth set as the Lions (7-14, 3-4 SLC) hit .700 to Tarleton's .000. Tarleton took the 4-3 lead off a kill from the reigning WAC Freshman of the Week
Breanna McDonough, but it was the last lead they saw in the set. The Lions outscored Tarleton 12-3 down the stretch to take the match.

Tarleton hit .385 in set one and .447 in set three, winning both. In sets two, four and five they hit .048, .044 and .000.

Megan Haynes led the Texans with 17 kills, and
Grayson Schirpik finished with her third double-double of the season posting 14 kills and 15 digs. McDonough added 12 kills on .333 hitting, adding five digs.
Megan Hodges had 32 assists to pair with 8 digs.
Ana Costas led with 24 digs.
