The majority of Texan Soccer and Volleyball games take place in Stephenville this week, with Soccer kicking things off with their first home game in school history.
Four of the five games in Tarleton sports this week will be home, beginning Thursday with Texan Soccer hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Tarleton Volleyball team will start their regular season and Texan Invitational against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday morning and play Northwestern State that same night. Their three-game slate will conclude Saturday against ULM. Soccer will wrap up the week on the road on Sunday at Lamar.
TARLETON SOCCER has one game at home and one on the road this week. The team will play Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday at 7 p.m. in their first home game of the season. There will be a chance to meet Tarleton student-athletes in the Aquatic Center Parking Lot at 5:30 p.m. before heading over to the Tarleton Soccer Complex at for the Texans' inaugural home match. They will then travel to Beaumont to take on Lamar at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Texans are coming off of a win and a draw in the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Adriana Alonso-Gomez scored the tying goal against NDSU in the 70
th minute after a fast start from the Bison. The team kept their momentum against Nichols, as they had nine shots on goal compared to Nichols' one.
Rylee Low found the back of the net in the 85th minute to take down the Colonels on their home turf. This gives the Texans a 1-0-1 record early in their season.
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL will play in three of the six total games of the Texan Invitational. On Friday, their first game will be at 10 a.m. against Fairleigh Dickinson. They will get a break in the afternoon before playing Northwestern State at 6 p.m. Friday night. Friday will be a Back 2 School Beach Bash, as purple leis will be given out to match fans' beach attire for both games. The Texan Invitational will conclude with Tarleton Volleyball taking on ULM at 5 p.m. on Saturday. This will be a Kids Night with free posters and autographs postgame.
Mary Schindler looks to produce her 14th straight winning season in her 18th season as the head coach of Texan Volleyball. They have a quick turnaround as their next game will be in Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.

The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
